Jon Favreau Star Wars The Mandalorian

We’ve all been dying to see what Jon Favreau (‘Iron Man’,’Chef’) was going to put together for his live-action “Star Wars” series and now thanks to a post he made on Instagram we’ve got the potential title and a slew of details! The director for the first two ‘Iron Man’ films is no stranger to working with Disney between ‘The Jungle Book’ and helping develop the sequel and ‘The Lion King.’ This also isn’t the first time that the director will be tackling any stories set in a galaxy far, far away as he had roles in both ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ as a voice actor as well as ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story.’

While we don’t have specifics of the characters which will be involved quite yet we do know a bit about the plot:

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

This description may have piqued the interest of fans of Chuck Wendig’s “Aftermath” trilogy as there is a man in it named Cobb Vanth who had stolen Boba Fett’s armor. Vanth was previously a slave who ended up free after Jabba the Hutt was killed and came across Fett’s armor. He ended up working to try and keep Tatooine free from a new crimelord taking over and this could be part of what ends up being looked into in the series.

We’ve already seen that the series does appear to take place on Tatooine so this could very well prove to be true.
