Andy Serkis Wanted Snoke To Survive 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

From Caesar to Ulysses Klaue to Supreme Leader Snoke, it has been a bad couple of years for Andy Serkis’ characters, but there is one character the actor wished hadn’t died on screen: Snoke. The actor feels Snoke was “a great character” and would love to return to play the role.  However, after being decapitated by Kylo Ren in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ it feels that we wouldn’t end up seeing an appearance by the character unless he appears as a Force Ghost.

During the press tour for ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle,’ it should come as no surprise that “Star Wars” was brought up:

“It was a bit of a shock, but I could see exactly why they were going that route, and I think it was a huge surprise in the middle of the film. But I really loved the scene where Rey plays with Snoke. That scene was a fantastic. I just wish he’d survived, but who knows?”

Serkis does hope that Snoke’s murderer will “Just chill out a bit” when the franchise continues as we’ve now seen Kylo Ren surpass his grandfather and idol Darth Vader by taking control of the First Order. We know that Snoke has an extensive backstory that has yet to be told so we could even see Serkis appear in a prequel film if the story isn’t told in the “Star Wars” novels or comics.
