Umbrella Academy

The first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, ‘The Umbrella Academy’ is here.  As the clip announces, in 1989, 43 women suddenly gave birth despite not being pregnant that morning.  Billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) announces that he is adopting seven of these miracle children.  After starring as Kitty Pryde in the ‘X-Men’ movies, Ellen Page is back, as another super being… or is she?  As Vanya Hargreeves a.k.a. Number Seven a.k.a. The White Violin, she doesn’t initially seem to have any super abilities.  Never the less, she along with her siblings will soon be facing a world-ending threat.

Blige as assassin Cha-Cha, Cameron Britton as her partner, Hazel, Ashley Madekwe as Detective Patch, John Magaro as Leonard Peabody, Adam Godley as Pogo, and Kate Walsh as The Handler.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ is based on the award-winning Dark Horse comic book series by Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá.

Check out the trailer below:

On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeves’ passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ will be released on Netflix on February 15.
