Deadly Class

SyFy is continuing its recent trend of oddball series with the new series ‘Deadly Class,’ based on the Image Comics series of the same name, from executive producers Joe and Anthony Russo, who most fans remember best as the directors of ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ not to mention the upcoming ‘Avengers 4‘ which will hit theaters in 2019. The original comic was written by Miles Orion Feldsott, who also wrote ‘American Koko,’ and is set to star Benjamin Wadsworth as a new student at an high end private academy primarily for children of crime family bosses, most of whom are well-learned in martial arts and look to be out to kill eeach other if they sense any weakness. All of which looks kind of insane and very entertaining.

SyFy has released a new trailer for the crazy series, which also stars Benedict Wong (who American audiences will also recognize from the MCU) as well as Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Liam James, and Michel Duval. The trailer itself is highly stylized, showing off some of the spirit and tone and of the series, and promising if nothing else, some high energy action and somewhat witty dialogue. Check out the trailer (below) and the new poster (right) for yourself, and feel free to share your thoughts on SyFy’s latest series in the comments below!

Also, here is the official synopsis for the series:

Set in a dark, heightened world against the backdrop of late ‘80s counterculture, DEADLY CLASS follows the story of Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), a teen living on the streets who is recruited into Kings Dominion, an elite private academy where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital. Based on the best-selling 2014 Image Comics graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, DEADLY CLASS is a coming-of-age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst.
