James Marsden

James Marsden (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’,’Unfinished Business’) has been on HBO’s ‘Westworld‘ since the first episode but some new casting news could potentially put his future on the series in doubt. Teddy Flood has had quite an impact on the series but with Marsden’s new job that could be hinting the third season will see him leaving the show.

Marsden has signed on to star in a new Netflix series called ‘Dead to Me’ and is described as a dark comedy which also stars Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, and Ed Asner. In the series, Marsden is the love interest of Cardellini’s character and will be “teeming with intrigue.” He’ll appear to be “confident and logical” on the show though is a more “vulnerable” character.

This casting now makes us wonder how vulnerable Flood will be on ‘Westworld.’ It appears that the first season of ‘Dead to Me’ is only going to be ten half-hour episodes. With it being unclear if Marsden would even be appearing in all ten-episodes, it could mean that his time commitment would be rather low. Depending on filming locations and when they plan to shoot, it would also potentially not even impact any commitments to when ‘Westworld’ films its third season.

We also know that the first season of ‘Dead to Me’ looks to be set to stream on Netflix in 2019 which would indicate a production time that should be kicking off soon while ‘Westworld’ has yet to reveal a release date. If the track record from the first two seasons is accurate, the series likely won’t come out until 2020.

Do you think that James Marsden will still be playing Teddy Flood on HBO’s ‘Westworld’ or will his gig on ‘Dead to Me’ going to take him off the series? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
