AMC was quick to see that Joe Hill had a hit on his hands with the novel ‘NOS4A2‘ and even quicker to snatch up the television rights. We haven’t heard much on the pre-production end of things lately though it was just announced that Zachary Quinto (‘Star Trek: Beyond’,’24’) is slated to return to television for the series and is going to be turning on the charm big time to do so. Outside of the “Star Trek” franchise, most fans of the actor feel that he made his mark on either ‘Heroes’ or ‘American Horror Story’ so to see him back in action on the small screen is a fun thought! This return is extra fun when factoring in that he’ll be playing a “seductive” villain that you’ll likely have problems outright hating.

Stephen King’s son may have had a hit with the novel but as it comes to the small screen for a 10-episode run is when non-readers are going to finally have a chance to check it out. The book followed Vic McQueen who is a young artist that discovers she has a supernatural ability. It isn’t anything fun like flying and ends up being the ability to track down Charlie Manx who is an immortal villain.

Quinto will be playing Manx. The character is “the seductive adversary who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland — an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when Vic (Australian actress Ashleigh Cummings) discovers her dangerous gift.”

While Quinto has been keeping busy with hosting ‘In Search Of’ for History and performing in ‘The Boys in the Band’ on Broadway, he does also have a few films on his slate. While ‘High Flying Bird’ is in post-production and may no longer need his time outside of press junkets, he is still attached for the next “Star Trek” film, a pilot episode of a series titled ‘Biopunk‘, and a film titled ‘Abandoned’ which currently doesn’t have a filming date. It will be interesting if ‘NOS4A2’ could cause him to have to push off any of these other projects.

Are you excited that ‘NOS4A2’ is finally moving forward? Will Zachary Quinto be the perfect villain for this live-action adaptation of the novel? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
