Jessica Parker Kennedy The Flash

Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Mystery Girl will be hanging around ‘The Flash’ for a while, as she has been bumped up to series regular for Season Five.  Kennedy made her Arrowverse debut during the crossover event ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ in the ‘Supergirl’ episode.  After popping up throughout the season and demonstrating that she was (yet another) speedster in the episode ‘Therefore She Is’, her character was revealed to be Nora West-Allen, the daughter of Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) Allen from the future in the fourth season finale, ‘We Are The Flash’.  Nora admitted to her parents that she had made a huge mistake, which will most likely be a major focus of Season Five.  It will also most likely involve time travel.

Kennedy joins Hartley Sawyer, who plays Ralph Dibney/The Elongated Man, and Danielle Nicolett, who has played Cecile Horton since Season Two, who have also been upgraded to series regulars for the fifth season.  Of course, Gustin, Patton, Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow) and Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) are also returning full time.

This is Kennedy’s second DC Comics-based role.  She appeared in three episodes of ‘Smallville’ as Bette Sans Souci, a.k.a. Plastique.  She went on to appear on The CW’s ‘The Secret Circle’, then ‘90210’ and ‘Colony’.  She has also starred on Stage 13’s ‘I Love Bekka And Lucy’ and Starz’s ‘Black Sails’.  She has a role in the upcoming horror movie ‘Cam’ which opens on July 12, 2018.  She will also be featured in the horror spoof ‘Deep Murder’ which also stars Jerry O’Connell, and in the comedy ‘Business Ethics’ with Larenz Tate.

This fall, ‘The Flash’ will continue to air on Tuesday nights at 8pm EST.  The first new episode of season five will premier on October 9.
