Linda Hamilton was a buff robot slayer in ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ but that was in 1991 and many years have passed.  Hamilton has continued to work steadily but has never returned for another ‘Terminator’ movie and that may be for the best, as the series dipped severely after that.  So much so, that the upcoming, untitled ‘Terminator’ reboot will be a direct sequel to ‘Terminator 2’ and will ignore everything that came after.  Hamilton is returning to the franchise for the first time as will James Cameron who directed the first two then likewise stepped away.  Cameron will act as producer and co-wrote the story that the film will be based on.  ‘Deadpool”s Tim Miller is directing.

Hamilton may be close to 30 years older, but she is hard at work getting back into shape for the new installment:

It’s not the most glamorous picture and the platinum hair ages her.  Here is another recent picture from her guest stint on ‘Lost Girl’ that is a bit more flattering:

The new ‘Terminator’ will reportedly build upon modern concerns about A.I.s and drone warfare.  Joining Hamilton will be her original costar Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Gabriel Luna (‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’) will play a more high tech Terminator, while Natalia Reyes (‘2091’) will play the film’s heroic lead.  Mackenzie Davis (‘Halt and Catch Fire’) and Diego Boneta (‘Luis Miguel: La Serie’) are also playing human protagonists.

There were big hopes that 2015’s ‘Terminator Genisys’ directed by Alan Taylor (‘Game of Thrones’), would revive the franchise.  Schwarzenegger returned for the film, which recast most of the other major roles, with Emilia Clarke taking over Hamilton’s role as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.  Unfortunately, ‘Genisys’ fizzled out, seeming to indicate that moviegoers were tired of this long-in-the-tooth brand, but Paramount is hoping that by bringing back some of the original talent, fans will be enticed to revisit ‘Terminator’.

The new movie is slated to arrive in theaters on November 22, 2019.  Are you intrigued to check out the new film?
