nightflyers

Coming off the success of HBO’s expansive ‘Game of Thrones,’ it was announced last year that SyFy will be adapting another of prolific author George RR Martin’s works, ‘Nightflyers,’ into a series for the cable channel.  The only look fans have been given at the production so far was a short, relatively vague teaser video.

While you certainly can’t blame SyFy for wanting to play things a little close to the vest, the channel could certainly use some goodwill with fans after the recent news about their cancelling the beloved series ‘The Expanse.’  Without further ado, then, come three new videos showing us some deeper glimpses into what we can expect when ‘Nightflyers’ hits the airwaves this Fall. These are still teasers, so the videos are relatively short, but they do show some very intriguing imagery.

Take a look at the videos below, all released by SyFy this week, along with the series synopsis .  The show will star Eoion Macken, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gretchen Mol, David Ajala, and Brían F. O’Byrne. The series is executive-produced by Jeff Buhler, Brian Nelson, Andrew McCarthy, Mike Cahill, and George R.R. Martin.

In 2093, in hopes of making contact with a mysterious alien life at the edge of our solar system, a group of maverick scientists and a powerful telepath embark on an expedition aboard The Nightflyer. As they race towards first contact, terrifying and violent events begin to occur, causing the once tight-knit crew to mistrust each other. It’s not long before their main mission becomes survival.

NIGHTFLYERS is based on the novella by George R. R. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, and is produced by Universal Cable Productions and co-produced by Netflix. Jeff Buhler wrote the adaptation for television and is the showrunner and executive producer. Brian Nelson, Mike Cahill and Andrew McCarthy serve as executive producers. Gene Klein, David Bartis and Doug Liman from Hypnotic; Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta of Gaeta Rosenzweig Films; and Lloyd Ivan Miller and Alice P. Neuhauser of Lloyd Ivan Miller Productions also serve as executive producers.

‘Nightflyers’ will premiere on SyFy this Fall.
