We already know that The CW is rebooting ‘Charmed’ and now have learned that Madeleine Mantock (‘Into the Badlands’) has signed on as part of the show. In the cast, she’ll be the lead sister and stars opposite of Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery. The pilot’s major cast is shaping up under showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman’s (‘Jane the Virgin’) guiding hand along with CBS TV Studios.

What we’ve learned from this “fierce, funny, feminist’ reboot is that it will follow “three sisters — Macy (Mantock), Mel (Diaz) and Madison (Jeffery) — in a college town who, after the tragic death of their mother, are stunned to discover they are witches.” Not only must they work together to supernatural beings such as demons but also have “toppling the patriarchy” to take care of.

Of Mantock’s character, we’ve learned that “Macy is a practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist who has her world blown open when she discovers that the supernatural world is all too real.” (Someone who works in the medical field that comes across supernatural, what a strange thought.)

The original ‘Charmed’ is a fan-favorite that still resonates with audiences today. The cast and crew are going to have to pull off a fantastic story to win over fans who are jaded by the thoughts of a reboot as well as attract new viewers.

We already know that Holly Marie Combs isn’t thrilled about the idea of the reboot while Shannon Doherty is being cautiously optimistic and says that “negativity has no place in my life” so she’d rather be “constructive about it.”

Fans will likely hope that this more positive take as we’ve seen in the likes of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ that a new reimaging can work.

Are you excited to hear that the three sisters of the ‘Charmed’ reboot have now all been cast? Can this series live up to and perhaps surpass the original? Share your thoughts below!
