Weird things are afoot in Hawkins, Indiana and McFarlane Toys is getting right on top of it! The ‘Stranger Things’ television series has quickly become one of the biggest names in popular culture, and the team at McFarlane Toys is ready to take you back into the upside down with a number of new figures for their recently launched ‘Stranger Things’ 7″ figure line! This year at New York Toy Fair 2018 McFarlane was displaying quite a few new additions to the line, including more of our favorites from Season One and our first look at new figures based on Season Two!
The first figures in this toyline, Eleven and Hopper, hit the market late last year to appease the rabid fanbase! The next two figures we already knew about, Dustin and Lucas, are supposed to be arriving on shelves in the next few weeks alongside the massive new Demogorgon figure that stands a whopping 10″ tall (and is in scale with the rest of the line). Then the new fun begins!
Announced at Toy Fair were the new Season One figures of Mike and Will to round out our lead cast of kids! Will is going to have a retailer exclusive ‘Upside Down’ variant that features a special paint scheme and is packaged upside down on the card. It has not been announced where he will be exclusive to as of yet, but we will keep you posted once this is revealed!
The big surprise of the day is definitely the new ‘Stranger Things Ghostbusters’ figure four-pack! This set includes all four of our lead kids (Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will) in their ‘Ghostbusters’ uniforms! Accessories include a video camera and a ghost trap with Dart inside! The attention to detail on these is insane, making each figure’s ‘Ghostbusters’ costume look like it was hand made at home by their mom for Halloween! Each one is ever so slightly different from one another to keep up with this motif. It’s minor details like this that make this line really shine!
Finally, we have a new Season Two Punk Eleven and a figure set of Dustin and Adult Dart! There wasn’t much information on Punk Eleven yet, but she looks awesome so far. This Dustin figure is an entirely new sculpt and has a removable face bandana for when he adventures in the Upside Down! He includes a flashlight, a candy bar, and of course a Dart figure. Dart is articulated as well, making this set a “must have” for fans of the show!
