Maisie Williams New Mutants

Rumors have been swirling that ‘New Mutants‘ was going through some extensive reshoots and thanks to an interview over at Screen Rant, Maisie Williams claim that they just aren’t true. Not believing Arya Stark seems like a bad idea though it is easy to see why people have bought into them with an announced 10-month delay for the film’s release – especially when the film was originally slated to be in theaters three months before the delay hit. With a rumor that the reshoots were being made to add even more horror to the film, it even seemed viable.

However, according to Williams:

“I think everything you’ve just rattled off is just rumors. But we’re releasing early next year and I’m properly excited. I’ve seen little parts of it and I’ve done a load of ADR for it and it’s really exciting watching it all back. It feels a long while since we’ve done it, and I always enjoy going seeing little bits of it before it’s released, so I’m looking forward to it coming out.”

According to Williams, she has been involved with redoing a bit of work for ‘New Mutants’ in her role as Wolfsbane. However, the entirety of it was just for “her recent recording of Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) tracks for the film” and that nothing else was in the works.

We have heard that the post-production team wanted more time for working out the special effects but another rumored reason for the delay was to increase the distance between any upcoming Fox and Disney Marvel movie coming out about the same time. With the studios likely coming under one banner soon it would make sense to not compete with one another for major box office releases.
