game of thrones

It sounds like we’re waiting until 2019 for the finale of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ but we’ve just learned that the final table read has happened and the entire cast was “applauding and crying.” We’re nearing the end of this grand fantasy epic which has taken up so much of our lives and expectations are running high so if the cast who have actually been living these characters were so emotional about how things went, this is something to be even more excited about!

There are clearly emotional highs and lows in the final season of George R.R. Martin’s masterpiece and that would be expected with how the story has developed so far.

Sansa Stark herself, Sophie Turner, shared:

“We had the read-through a while ago and at the end of it, we were all on our feet, applauding and crying. We had everyone there, everyone who’s had any part in this. It was amazing.”

It seems hard to imagine that Sean Bean’s Ned Stark might be around for any of this but even having the currently living characters is a feat in itself! While the cast has been killed off left and right over the years, there are still many major players and story arcs that will need to be resolved.

As to how it played out for the cast? Turner added in that:

“We closed the blinds and shut ourselves off from the rest of the world and had six hours in this room just reading it through and crying and laughing. We had our emotional bit and then we thought, ‘Well now we’ve got eight months. We’ve still got a while to get through!'”

I’m sure we all know that they haven’t spent the emotion already with how passionate the actors for ‘Game of Thrones’ are, and it will be fun to watch it all play out when it airs. Sadly, early rumors have the final season debuting in 2019 and not this coming year.

Are you excited that the cast and crew were clearly so emotional over their final read through? Do you feel that audiences will have the same reaction when the show plays out on the small screen? Share your thoughts below!
