Deadpool 2

The most recent teaser for the untitled ‘Deadpool 2’ didn’t give us much outside of Ryan Reynolds having fun playing Wade Wilson pretending to be painting some happy little trees in classic Bob Ross style. Actually, it wasn’t trees at all that are our focus but we’ll get to that in a moment. They also gave us a look at Cable which is what most fans took away from it but it could have been the painting that teased us an inclusion of Mister Sinister.

We’ve been getting a hint at the character when the Essex Corporation was teased in the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ post-credit scene and haven’t heard anything from the villain since that time. Rumors had him being introduced in ‘Logan’ before they decided to go with a more grounded approach and as the next X-Men film is focusing on the Phoenix it seems unlikely he’ll be popping up there.

The tease that could mean he’s coming? Let’s take a look at the picture which is at the end of his painting. First we’re teased a cabin in the middle of nowhere which is something in the comics that both Wade and a certain Wolverine have used over the years as their own ways to get away from society. Only, at the very end when he’s messing around some added paint ended up on the canvas:

While that could just be a splatter on the canvas or trying to represent Deadpool himself, the black eyes and white face make it appear as if that is what it is would be more in line with Mister Sinister.

For those unfamiliar with Mister Sinister and why he could be relevant here, he’s genetically altered himself to try and become the perfect form of human and has become telepathic as a result. He often controls the minds of others and could very well be exerting influence over Wade here. On top of that, he was vitally important in the creation of Cable who is being introduced in the film. With Fox already hinting at using the character at some point it seems only a matter of time before he appears and without knowing the primary villain of the movie at this time it seems like a good fit.

We’ll see how the theory pans out but it could make perfect sense.

Do you think that Mister Sinister will be the big bad in ‘Deadpool 2’ or at the very least hinted at? Will he be out in full force as the movie progresses or be working from the shadows for a later appearance? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
