Hellboy

We’ve been learning bits and pieces of what the ‘Hellboy‘ reboot is going to be about and a new synopsis for the film has shared that most of what we’ve heard appear to be true. Not only that, but filming locations have been revealed as well! Production is set to begin in the middle of September and has two primary locations which it will be filmed: Bulgaria and the UK. With much of the plot based loosely on a story which primarily took place in the UK that is pretty awesome to learn that we might be getting some actual footage from locations that were depicted in the comics.

I’m just excited that with filming beginning we might finally get some promotional art of David Harbour (‘Stranger Things’) sporting his new look for the movie.

As to the synopsis:

“The film is about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort, and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.”

We had already known that Milla Jovovich was cast to play the Blood Queen and had recently learned that her name was going to be Nimue which is a witch familiar to those who recall the tale of Hellboy’s death. In fact, much of what is being depicted in this movie sounds to be taken from that story arc which makes me wonder if they’ll be giving us a vastly different ending or immediately sending Hellboy into Hell in the second film.

This new synopsis also doesn’t hint at exactly how much or little that the B.P.R.D. will be involved in the movie.

Do you think that we’ll end up seeing Merlin in ‘Hellboy’ as well? Happy to hear that most of the early casting and plot news seems to be accurate? Share your thoughts below!
