Thor: Ragnarok Rumor Taika Waititi Kills A 'Thor: Ragnarok' Rumor

With ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ being the last Marvel Studios film this year, we have a ton of questions and now director Taika Waititi has shared not only the runtime but also shot down a rumor as well. While the focus of the previews has pit Thor vs Hulk we know that there is a lot more at stake in the movie though it will have exactly an hour and a half to tell its story.

A recent rumor had the movie clocking in at 2 hours and 10 minutes. However, it doesn’t look as if it will be 130 minutes long but sadly a bit shorter.

According to Waititi:

So the 130-minute count is accurate if you count the end-credits which will put the ridiculous amount in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ to shame! Obviously, he was kidding here about the last 40 minutes but this 90-minute runtime is in line with what he was saying about a month back so it shouldn’t be too surprising.

That being said, I hope James Gunn is up to the challenge of making the next Guardians film have close to a 40-minute end-credit scene that lines up all of Marvel’s next phase.

It’s always possible that he is playfully confirming a longer runtime here which would fit with a standard Marvel Studios film but be 40-minutes longer than what he had originally stated the length would be. That seems to be a bit of a stretch if you ask me.

It should be noted that at 90 or even 100 minutes that this would be Marvel’s shortest film to date.

Are you looking forward to ‘Thor: Ragnarok’? Do you think it’ll end up being 90 minutes long or still this 2 hour and 10-minute affair which has recently been rumored?
