I think the new show which I am most excited about premiering this year is Starz’ take on Neil Gaiman’s ‘American Gods‘ and this trailer has done nothing but reinforces my high expectations. Not only do we get an idea of what some of the action in the series will look like but we get a few looks of the New Gods which include Bruce Langley as Technical Boy, Kristin Chenoweth as Easter, Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, and Crispin Glover as Mr. World. If anything, the recently released promotional photos now seem to have been a tease just for this trailer’s release.

From the use of color to the subtle details shown off about the Gods and other creatures which live among mankind, I’m even more excited than I was. Honestly, even though it is on Starz, I wasn’t expecting the series to be quite as gore-filled as this trailer shows with the promotional shots having not even hinted at it until now.

It seriously looks stunning. Next month should be a real treat if the entire show looks as good as this trailer.

Synopsis:

American Gods pits Old Gods against New Gods, with the ancient mythological ones fearing irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology, and celebrity offered by the younger deities. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is an ex-con who, left adrift by the recent death of his wife, becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to conman Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). But in truth, Mr. Wednesday is a powerful old deity, on a cross-country mission to build an army and reclaim his lost glory.

The ‘American Gods’ Will Wage War On Starz On April 30th, 2017 at 9 pm ET/PT!
