There is some new casting details for ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters‘ and they’re all about family as the actors who will play Millie Bobby Brown‘s Parents have been picked! Not only that, but the two choices were fantastic as the amazingly talented Vera Farmiga (‘The Conjuring’,’Source Code’) will be playing her mother while Kyle Chandler (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’,’Manchester by the Sea’) is set to play her father and more in the movie. While some might be worried that Vera is being typecast as a mother after her outstanding performance as Norma in ‘Bates Motel,’ I can honestly say that I’ll check out any genre film that she ends up being a part of!

Who am I kidding, even if it was another actress I’d still be checking out the sequel to ‘Godzilla’ as I love giant creature features. These casting announcements are just a whole slew of good news.

kyle-chandlerWhile director Michael Dougherty (‘Krampus’) is still keeping the details of ‘Godzilla: King of Monsters’ under wraps, we do know a little about Chandler’s character. Aside from Brown’s father, his character will be a scientist in the film as well as the hero of the story. Ideally, he’ll have more screen time than Bryan Cranston had in the first outing but the same could be said about Godzilla himself.

Chandler is probably a good pick for the role as he has experience with this type of film already having starred in ‘Super 8’, the 2005 version of ‘King Kong’ as well as ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still.’
