With all of the excitement for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, ‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ coming out this year, it is easy to forget that Marvel has a lot more in store for audiences beyond 2017, and I am not just talking about the ‘Infinity War’ movies that we have been waiting for since the first time we saw Thanos at the end of ‘The Avengers.’ Production is currently underway on ‘Black Panther,’ and if the fan response to the character’s fantastic first outing in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ is any indication, people are very excited to see this movie finally coming to the big screen.

Of course, what is any hero without his villains, and fans have already gotten a brief taste of the Black Panther’s arch nemesis during his brief cameo in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ played by the always entertaining Andy Serkis. And now, we have the first set photos of Serkis thanks to a fan who snapped a shot and posted it on Twitter, though the image itself does not really reveal all that much. It’s just Serkis in a green outfit between takes as Ulysses Klaue. We cannot even see his arms, so we have no idea if he will be sporting the sonic arm implant that made him such a formidable foe in the comics, which is all too likely an accessory now that he had his arm chopped off by Ultron.

The other interesting tidbit about the photo is that the photographer claimed that Michael B. Jordan (who we know is playing Erik Killmonger in the film) was just outside of frame, making it all too likely that Killmonger and Klaue were sharing a scene together, meaning they might be working together against our hero over the course of the movie. And this would tie into earlier comments made by co-star Lupita Nyong’o who stated last summer that the film’s plot had two villains threatening T’Challa’s throne, meaning Killmonger and Klaue are now the two most likely suspects.

Are you excited to see Serkis on set for the movie? Do you think he will be a formidable enough opponent for the Black Panther, even with Killmonger on his side? Share your thoughts on the matter in the comments below!
