Filmmaking is a collaborative process. Though there is a director at the helm of a project, it takes many people to create one movie. And some filmmakers will often choose to work with the same people in front of and behind the camera. For example, Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, Woody Allen, Judd Apatow, and Quentin Tarantino are just a few people in Hollywood that have their own stables of talent to utilize when assembling stars for their latest productions. In the case of Guillermo Del Toro, it seems that one of his primary collaborators is Ron Perlman, so it’s not surprising that the actor is popping up in ‘Trollhunters’ as well.

During the press room for the upcoming animated Netflix series, the actor that has appeared in ‘Blade II’, ‘Pacific Rim’, ‘Book of Life’, and the ‘Hellboy’ movies discussed his frequent collaborations with Del Toro. Also, while touching on the various ways that he would prepare for his roles that require more of a transformation (like in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’), Perlman said that it all basically boils down to the same thing and compared his process to solving a puzzle or a riddle. Finally, after briefly describing his ‘Trollhunters’ character Bular, he talks about how fortunate he has been in his long, illustrious career thus far.
