Unless FX has been trolling audiences, only one of the teasers for the sixth season of Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story‘ are real and has already been shown but this new one which features Lady Gaga seems pretty convincing. While the network would usually have given us an idea of what to expect at this point, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf has stated that “there is a theme and a setting and a place and time but we’re not going to reveal it because we think it will be fun for the audience to have the surprise this year.” This was later followed up with word that only one teaser trailer would be real and a contest from FX narrowed it down to 6.
Still, even that could have been misdirection which would mean that this trailer which features Lady Gaga could actually be showing us what to expect. However, I could easily see Lady Gaga having the kind of twisted sense of humor that toying with fans would be fun so this could all be part of the misdirection.
This one is titled “Illusion” and actually includes all of the teasers to date as well as a couple of new shots.

TOMORROW (Wednesday, Sept 14) we will finally get the truth at what this season is all about and I am stoked to see it. With a new album being released and promotion for it eating up her time it seems that her role might be limited this season but as she is clearly not just a horror icon in her own right but as a fan of the show I can’t help but hope she continues to appear in it.
