If watching ‘Star Trek Beyond’ on an IMAX screen is not big enough, Barco Escape has created a unique experience that allows you to be immersed in the film by expanding it across three screens! This technique allows movie goers to create a more panoramic experience in the theaters while 2giving you the sense of being engulfed by the movie. Intrigued? Well, we have a trailer to give you just a hint of what that experience would be like.
The Barco Escape format is similar to IMAX in that only certain parts of a film would be adapted for this type of screening. But don’t worry. It’s not like you’ll be seeing a conversation between Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) with Spock on the left screen and Kirk on the right. Only about 20 minutes of the film was adapted for this format and from the trailer below, it looks like most of it involved huge action sequences.
Take a look a the trailer below and then head over to the Barco Escape site to see if there is a theater near you:
“Star Trek Beyond,” the highly anticipated next installment in the globally popular Star Trek franchise, created by Gene Roddenberry and reintroduced by J.J. Abrams in 2009, returns with director Justin Lin (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise) at the helm of this epic voyage of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her intrepid crew. In “Beyond,” the Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.
‘Star Trek Beyond’ opens in theaters on July 22.
