I have some horrible news about the future of ‘Orphan Black‘ to share with today as the series will be coming to an end at the end of the fifth season. That’s right, this will be our last run-in with Tatiana Maslany’s amazing performances on the series. The fifth season will be another ten episodes of pure joy to watch and with so many story lines still running it will be fun to see how they tie up all of the loose ends.

At this time, we don’t know if BBC America is pulling the plug on ‘Orphan Black’ due to ratings or if the showrunners feel that the end has finally come but I suspect it is the first choice. The series has never had the ratings to quantify it being a hit but the fourth season was sadly the lowest of them all without a single episode having more than 300,000 views for when it was being aired live. It hasn’t been confirmed but it wouldn’t be a surprise if that was why the show is being pulled.

At the very least, we’re going to have the final season being filmed with the showrunner and writing staff already knowing it will be the end so that they can give the characters proper sendoffs. The most recent season has been a huge revelation already going back to explaining the events of the first episode of the series and opening up so much more of the world. With how the fourth season finale just ended and us still not knowing who is pulling all of the strings, we’ve got more than enough to cover in the next season and it truly means we should be getting a full set of action filled episodes.

Are you sad to hear that ‘Orphan Black’ will end with season five or do you feel that the era of the clones is over? Share your thoughts below!
