Inferno Ron Howard Tom Hanks Irrfan Kahn

In anticipation for the release of’‘Inferno’ later this year, Tom Hanks, Ron Howard and Irrfan Kahn graced the red carpet at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum for a press conference and photo call.

‘Inferno’ is the third film of the Dan Brown franchise which started with the 2006 ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and continued with ‘Angels & Demons’ in 2009. In ‘Inferno,’ Tom Hank returns to reprise his role as Robert Langdon, the renowned Harvard University professor of Symbology who uses his skills to thwart international threats. This time around, Langdon finds himself in an Italian hospital with amnesia and once again is racing against the clock to foil a deadly plot inspired by ‘Dante’s Inferno’ and one that threatens humanity.

Along with Hanks, ‘Inferno’ also stars Felicity Jones (‘The Theory of Everything’) as Dr. Siena Brooks, the doctor he hopes will help him recover memories, Irrfan Kahn (‘Jurassic World,’ ‘Life of Pi’) as Harry “The Provost” Sims who is head of a secret organization called The Consortium, Sidse Babett Knudsen (‘Westworld,’ ‘Proof’) as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey the head of the World Health Organization, Omar Sy (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ ‘Jurassic World’) as Christoph Bruder who is ordered by Dr. Sinskey to locate Langdon, and Ben Foster (‘Warcraft,’ ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’) as Bertrand Zobrist, the main antagonist of the film. Howard is once again at the helm having directed both ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Angels & Demons.’

I’m rather excited about his film as not only will a lot of clues that Langdon will be following will be tied to the famous Italian poet Dante, the film will also contain a lot of science intermingled with conspiracy theories and hidden meanings.

As we get closer to the actual release of the film, ScienceFiction.com will have the opportunity to bring you more news and interviews from ‘Inferno.’ Until then, check out the image from the Singapore press event below:
