Game of Thones season 6 Arya Stark

Since the beginning of ‘Game of Thrones‘, neither the old gods nor the new have been kind to any member of House Stark. We don’t even have to go back to Ned’s fate or the Red Wedding to see how bad this family has it. At the end of the last season, we saw one Stark child die, another on the run from her brutally sadistic husband, and another blinded due to her disobedience. And though we don’t know for sure that any of them will be okay when the popular HBO drama returns for its sixth season on Sunday, at least one of them will try to be.

Ahead of the season premiere later this week, the network has released a new clip from the upcoming season of ‘Game of Thrones’. Rather than taking us somewhere in Westeros, we get to briefly catch up with the recently blinded Arya Stark on the streets of Braavos. It is here that she is confronted by the Waif, who is played by Faye Marsay. And rather than having any sort of sympathy for the disobedient ward of the Faceless Men, the Waif shows absolutely no mercy towards Arya and jumps right into more training despite her new disability. You can check out the clip below:

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues. It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men…all play the ‘Game of Thrones.’

Though she isn’t exactly Matt Murdock at the moment, Arya is a very driven person when the right fire inside of her is lit. I predict that by the end of the season, she’ll be a mighty warrior yet. Of course, my predictions tend to be horribly wrong whenever it comes to this show, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see if George R.R. Martin’s story claims another member of House Stark before the summer ends.

What do you think about the latest clip from the upcoming season of ‘Game of Thrones’? Do you think that Arya will still become a fierce warrior despite her blindness? Or will she meet a tragic end like many of the other members of her family. Share your thoughts and theories in the comments.

‘Game of Thrones’ starring Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington (?), Natalie Dormer, Maisie Williams, and Sophie Turner returns to HBO on April 24, 2016 at 9:00pm.

Despite being a “professional writer”, Ben likes run-on sentences and puns far too much. Also, he doesn’t think that the Iron Throne looks that comfortable to sit on. For more of his attempts at being funny and the occasional insightful thought, follow him on Twitter and Instagram.
