A number of things were brought to light during the infamous Sony Pictures hack of 2014. Among the more tame items to surface was the news that the studio was developing a crossover between ‘Men In Black’ and ’21 Jump Street’. Considering that these are two of their most popular franchises, it’s not surprising that Sony would be planning future projects for them. However, no one expected that they would move forward together. But here we are in 2016 and we just recently word got out that ‘The Muppets’ and ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ director James Bobin was being courted to helm the crossover written by Rodney Rothman and produced by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Neal Moritz, and ‘Jump Street’ stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. And now it appears that this hugely unlikely film that has yet to receive an official green light has a title.

Sony announced during this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas that  the title of the ‘Men In Black’/’21 Jump Street’ crossover would be ‘MIB 23’. The studio also shared the logo which featured the letters sporting the metallic finish used in previous movies starring Agents J and K, while the numbers were presented in the familiar red font of Jenko and Schmidt’s films. You can see it in the picture below:

No other information regarding the crossover has been released, but it has been previously stated that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not star alongside Tatum and Hill in the upcoming film. There’s a possibility that the parts could be recast with different actors to play younger versions of these iconic characters (which is already halfway done since Josh Brolin played a young K in ‘Men In Black III’), but it’s more likely that Sony will bring new characters to the forefront that could potentially be spun off into their own franchise following the crossover. After all, there has been talk of a new ‘Men In Black’ trilogy with female agents prominently featured, so they could be introduced alongside the Jump Street officers.

What do you think about the name of the ‘Men In Black’/’21 Jump Street’ crossover film? Are you excited to see ‘MIB 23’? Or are you more surprised that Sony is actually going through with this? Let us know in the comments.
