‘Legends of Tomorrow’ was viewed as a one-off event, bringing together heroes from The CW’s established hits ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ to embark on a time travel adventure to defeat immortal villain Vandal Savage.  The show was described as being quite expensive for The CW to produce, which added to the assumption that this would be a one time only series, but then The CW surprised everyone by announcing that it was picking up ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ for a second season.  Where can they go from here?  And who will be leading them?

Geoff Johns, DC’s Chief Creative Officer spilled that a certain DC hero will appear in the season finale to set up the next adventure: Booster Gold.

Booster Gold is a hero from the future who travels back to the “present” and uses future tech to become a super hero in an effort to amass riches from corporate endorsements.  (He is sometimes shown wearing a uniform covered in logos, like a NASCAR driver.)

Johns recently spoke about this “beloved superhero” appearing saying:

“You’ll see [Booster Gold] very soon, and there’s talks about…there’s actually a lot of plans for Booster Gold, one of my favorite characters. But yeah, Booster Gold fans, you will definitely be happy with what we’ve got coming up in the years ahead.”

To be honest, Rip Hunter, the current leader of the ‘Legends’ is a bit of a non-character.  While he gives the group a motivation, he doesn’t really add much to the average episode.  Could swapping out the Kim Kardashian of superheroes be a step toward making the show more engaging?

Booster Gold was the first major new character introduced after DC Comics’ ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’.  First appearing in 1986, he joined the Justice League where he became best buds with Blue Beetle, creating one of the most popular bromances in comics.  Unfortunately, as time went on, the character has sort of been lost in the shuffle as have most of his Justice League International cohorts.

Would you be more interested in a ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ fronted by this showy character?
