SPOILER ALERT! This includes SPOILERS for ‘Ghostbusters’ out this summer!  You have been warned!

LEGO is turning into that one friend you absolutely love, but daaaaaaaamn you can’t tell her ANYTHING without everyone finding out your business!  After revealing twists of varying severity in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘Jurassic World’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, the popular toy brand has set out to ruin ‘Ghostbusters’!  (Well, not intentionally surely, but still.)

First, check out the building toys they will be offering featuring the new spectre fighters Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon) and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), plus of course the Ecto-1 car and a new Ecto-2, a motorcycle being ridden by Kevin, the gang’s trusty receptionist/secretary (Chris Hemsworth) aaaaaaand, a vaguely spoiler-y minifigure called Daemon.  There’s no explanation so it’s unknown if is Daemon the film’s main protagonist or just a ghostly lackey of some sort?

Here are some pics:

Now if you paid close attention to the two pictures of the Kevin minifigure, you’ll notice that, first of all he is dressed in a full-on Ghostbuster jumpsuit, meaning that unlike Janine in the first two movies, he gets to partake in the action.  So that’s a little bit spoiler-y, right there.  But there’s more.

Like many minifigures, he has two faces, but the “angry face” on the right has red eyes!  Does this imply that at some point, Kevin becomes possessed by an evil force, possibly Daemon?

Have a closer look at both angry/possessed Kevin and Daemon, who sports a pretty jazzy helmet, which may indicate a position of power:

Well, now we have a slight idea of what could happen in the movie.  There’s still a lot to be discovered since a trailer hasn’t yet been released.

These LEGO toys will all be released in one boxed set, just like the classic ‘Ghostbusters’ set.  They will be released on July 1st in preparation for the movie.  It will retail for $59.99 and considering these are LEGOs, they will COST $59.99.  None of that m.s.r.p. business with these suckers.

Will you be picking this setup?  Do you feel they spoil the movie at all?

‘Ghostbusters’ won’t be afraid of ghosts on July 15th, 2016. It is directed by Paul Feig and stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Chris Hemsworth.
