If you’ve been wondering when you’ll be able to check out the third installment of Showtime’s ‘Penny Dreadful‘ then you’ll be happy to hear that the wait will end on May 1st! We’re under five months until the return of Eva Green’s Vanessa Ives where her character will be without the support system she’s had in the first two seasons. As we finally have a trailer for it as well, I can tell you that it clearly looks as if she’s lacking the help of her friends right off the bat.
So what can we expect? Well in the trailer below you’ll be able to see her having to suffer through multiple problems once again. From being locked in what could be an insane asylum to dealing with a mysterious entity which utters “Two brothers. Fallen from Grace. The spirit…and the animal. You seek my soul…you my body. But both are promised to another.”

As you can see it isn’t all just about Vanessa though we we get a look in at Dorian Gray, Lily Frankenstein, and Ethan among others. The one thing I was hoping we might have more of a hint at was the introduction of Dr. Jekyll. Awe at least we got more of a look at the returning Patti LuPone.
One of the biggest complaints that have haunted the show is the pacing and this trailer almost looks like that might be being resolved though with only a minute and a half clip, where they are trying to grab our attention is hard to tell.
