Thanks, Obama! No really, thanks to the POTUS for a bunch of stuff, but his latest move is sure to upset Marvel fans whether they’re Democrat or Republican. Though we’re used to seeing the President’s State of the Union Address towards the end of January, this time around President Obama has scheduled his upcoming speech earlier than usual, which has caused TV networks to shuffle their programming around including the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s First Lady: Peggy Carter.

According to Deadline, the State of the Union Address has been scheduled for January 5, 2016. Because of this, a number of networks had to move around new episodes of popular shows such as ‘Limitless’, ‘Chicago Fire’, and ‘New Girl’. However, it’s ABC that is inconvenienced the most as it has had to delay the two-hour return of ‘Agent Carter’ for two weeks, which places the season premiere of the popular MCU show on January 19th. Since the series that sees Captain America’s former flame venture out on her own adventures acts as a bridge between the first and second halves of the current season of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, Director Coulson and company’s March 8th return date must be pushed back as well in order to keep Marvel’s story synced up. Luckily there isn’t another movie coming out soon that needs to be tied into or else that would have been a whole other problem for ABC and Marvel Television.

Of course, this isn’t really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It’s important for the President of the United States to address the nation, especially with his time in the position coming to an end and all the craziness that has been going on in the world recently. Knowing how patriotic Peggy Carter and Phil Coulson can be, I’m sure that they’d have no problem making the proper accommodations for President Obama.
