As promised, Netflix has finally unveiled the first full-length trailer for the next installment of their Marvel series ‘Jessica Jones’!
Krysten Ritter play the titular superheroine Jessica Jones who is trying to make a living as a private investigator “looking for the worst in people.” Unlike ‘Daredevil’ where we see Charlie Cox begin his career as a superhero, Jessica has been there, done that and is in Hell’s Kitchen trying to rebuild her life. We quickly get an overview of her super abilities by way of Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and immediately find out why she is broken with the introduction of the series’ villain Kilgrave (David Tennant).
The series looks to be very dark and has more of a psychological thriller vibe than most of the superhero films that have been released so far. While we don’t see the true evil extent of Kilgrave, he seems to be following the same MO as in the comics as a man obsessed with Jessica and who used his powers of mind control to abuse and mentally torture her for months before she was able to get free of him. Now he’s returned to start the cycle all over again!
There’s a lot to see and a lot of new footage in the trailer below! Check it out and leave your thoughts below!
After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.
‘Jessica Jones’ stars Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval will premiere on Netflix on November 20 at 12:01 am PT.
