While ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ may have at once been thought to be the unofficial sequel to ‘Man of Steel,’ it now seems that Warner Brothers wants this to be a Batman-centric movie. When Ben Affleck was first announced to be donning the cowl as the next Batman, no one seemed happy with the decision. But since an early screening of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ is rumored to have earned not only a standing ovation but an order for a new Batman trilogy, that all seems to have changed.

In fact, according to Heroic Hollywood:

“Warners is requesting more Batman be put into the movie and less Superman. Supposedly, Ben Affleck’s Batman is so good that he is blowing Henry Cavill’s Superman right off the screen.”

While many complained that Cavill’s portrayal as Superman wasn’t the best thing ever, it also wasn’t the worst thing in the world. For Affleck to be taking all of the praise in the film and the studio requesting that he has more screen time, it sounds like he truly is stealing the spotlight here.

With Affleck next officially set to show up in ‘Sucide Squad‘ and no word of another film until the first ‘Justice League’ movie, you have to wonder if he is going to start making cameos in more of the other upcoming films. Superman is generally known as being the moral compass that inspires heroes across the DC Universe  so it will be interesting to see if they are able to capture that part of his personality if he is being overshadowed by Affleck’s performance.
