With ‘Deadpool’ now in post-production, fans may think they’ll have to wait several months for any news about the film featuring one of Marvel’s favorite anti-heroes. However, the fans were proven wrong when earlier today Fox has released a new photo featuring the Merc with a Mouth.

The image looks to be part of the bridge sequence that was featured in the leaked test footage which was later recreated in the film. That test footage was instrumental in having ‘Deadpool‘ get a green light from Fox. In fact, so instrumental that Ryan Reynolds told EW that he would like to give the person who leaked it a great big kiss!

“And not just a little kiss but full on the mouth, sloppy, with tongue, for two straight minutes on live television, without commercial interruption. And then I’ll buy you dinner at Red Lobster, at least, and dessert.”

How can anyone resist dinner and dessert at Red Lobster, right? (Hey, those cheddar biscuits are worth it alone!) Obviously, Reynolds is still channeling his cheeky character and we’re eating it up! This is a rather tame comment considering ‘Deadpool’ has been rumored to be a true rated R film not for the usual Marvel PG-13 movie goer. According to producer Simon Kinberg:

“Deadpool is a hard R. It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”

And apparently they have pushed the boundaries as ‘Deadpool,’ with all its grittiness and blood, has been promised by Reynolds to be the film fans want to see with a lot of the comic’s twisted humor and sarcastic breaking of the fourth wall.  As director Tim Miller puts it:

“We are in strip clubs and dive bars and crappy apartments and far away from the shiny X-Men world.”

‘Deadpool’ will have an origin story that starts off with Wade Wilson as a mercenary before being subjected to experiments that left him with superpowers. The official synopsis is below:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Here’s hoping that more will come from the film when Comic-Con rolls around, but until then, here’s the latest image from ‘Deadpool’:

Deadpool’ will snark his way into theaters on February 12, 2016.
