Tyrese Gibson (‘Transformers’,’Fast & Furious 6′) is either throwing out hints that he is involved with the upcoming ‘Green Lantern‘ movies or is really just expressing his fandom for the character. While the Warner Brothers reboot of the film isn’t scheduled until 2020 there will be plenty of opportunity for a Green Lantern to show up before then. An ongoing rumor has Chris Pine set to be Hal Jordan but with no contract inked and the fact that John Stewart also has worn the green ring, there is no need for there to be only one Lantern. As we all know, there is a Green Lantern Corps in the mythology about the character so adding a second one seems like a no brainer.

Gibson was recently asked how his quest to portray the character was going:

“There are certain things I can’t speak on. But I will say, however this works out, it’s definitely the fans’ fault. I was at home minding my own business and fans start creating these fan-made videos of me as Green Lantern and I looked into it. I’ve been a fan of the Green Lantern. I took the oath, and I had a meeting at Warner Bros. and certain things were said and talked about. We’ll just see what happens.”

With having actually talked to the studio and things being that vague, I think we might just have a contender here. That being said, Gibson has just delivered his greatest tease yet of the potential role in the following photos:

With potential casting announcements dropping at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, is this all just a clever tease or one final push to be able to portray the character on the big screen?

I mean visually we know he’s got it down and so does Gibson:

“Listen, these muscles are here and they’re ready to be used. There are lot of people, domestically and internationally, who’s got love with your boy. I’m coming into this thing with some fans and some box office receipts behind my name and I say that proudly and humbly. I just think I deserve a shot at suiting up and becoming the Green Lantern.”

While we don’t know how his talks with Warner Brothers actually went down it wouldn’t surprise me if we officially found out one way or another at SDCC.
