Welcome back yet again for a brand spanking new edition of  Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! Some weeks prove to be a bit lighter than others, and this week certainly looks like one of those weeks! Still, there’s plenty of cool stuff happening in the industry and we’re going to keep doing our best to bring it front and center to you! Without further hesitation, let’s dive right in to the Toy News for the week of May 19th, 2015!


 Hot Toys Vision Phases In

Avengers: Age of Ultron‘ may already have lost the top spot at the box office this past weekend, but it’s certainly still going strong in the toy aisles! Now we can add one more super fancy toy to our wishlists with the announcement of Hot Toys new Vision figure from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’! This all new 1:6th scale figure brings one of the brightest spots of one of this summers biggest blockbusters to life in astonishing detail! Check out the full release from Hot Toys below:

“Well, I was born yesterday.” One of the biggest highlights of the record-breaking Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is the introduction of the new characters in the film! Originally planned to be the perfect “evolution” for Ultron, the Avengers was able to retrieve the android Vision and made him a valuable ally for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stop Ultron from eradicating mankind!

Today, Hot Toys is excited to present the humanoid hero that many fans have been waiting for – the 1/6th scale Vision Collectible Figure!

The movie-accurate Vision Collectible Figure is specially crafted based on his image in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It features a newly developed head sculpt with detailed texture and Mind Stone, specially tailored costume and cape, Thor’s hammer Mjölnir, and a specially designed figure stand.

NECA Throws Back To Science Fiction’s Greatest Rivalry

If the team at NECA has proven anything over the last few years, it’s that they know how to rub people’s nostalgia buttons the right way! They’re looking to prove this yet again with the reveal of an all new ‘Alien Vs. Predator’ figure 2-pack that brings back the classic ‘AvP’ 2-pack of Kenner’s early 90’s toyline! This new figure 2-pack will include both an Alien and a Predator figure in 7″ scale that have been given identical paint applications and accessories to those of their early 90’s counterparts. This is set to hit stores later this fall and will come complete with a ‘Alien Vs. predator’ mini-comic just like the original Kenner release!

Titan Merchandise’s New Line is Cutting Edge

And by that, we mean that their newly announced ‘Edward Scissorhands’ vinyl series of figures is looking sharp! This all new series, dubbed the ‘I’m Not Finished‘ series, were just revealed for the first time this week! You had best keep your eyes peeled for these, as Titan Merchandise says they should be hitting stores soon!

DC Collectibles Is Getting The Arkham Gang Back Together

Our friends at DC Collectibles recently revealed an all new second wave of figures based on the upcoming video game ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’! This new wave of figures is set to hit stores this November and includes quite a few familiar faces from toylines based on previous games in this franchise. This second wave of ‘Arkham Knight’ figures includes Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin, and Commissioner Gordon! One major plus is that this line looks like it’s featuring a lot more articulation than the previous series of figures based on the  ‘Arkham’ games, so these should be a definite buy for fans of the games!

‘Bombshells’ Away!

On the opposite end of the spectrum from the ‘Arkham’ games, DC Collectibles has also revealed two all new statues in their ‘DC Bombshells’ line! This time around we’re getting two villains with Cheetah and Killer Frost on their way! These two aren’t expected to his stores until early 2016, but this first look tells us that this line is only going to get bigger and bigger as it goes! These statues were announced alongside DC Comics reveal of an all new ‘DC Bombshells’ comic series that will be releasing this August for those of you who want to see more ‘Bombshells’ action that the statues on your shelf!

Funko Forecast

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!

 

 Hot Topic Gets A Little Exclusive

Well, technically this figure is normal sized, but Hot Topic is getting a special ‘Glow In The Dark’ Antman POP! Vinyl from Funko! This exclusive figure is set to hit Hot Topic stores around the same time that the standard release ‘Antman’ POP! Vinyls hit later this summer! (via PopVinyl)

Wibbly Wobbly Timey Whimey Exclusives

Keeping the ball in Hot Topic’s court, we’ve got some more Hot Topic Exclusive Funko POP! Vinyl figure news! Later this year fans everywhere will rejoice aswe finally get our hands on ‘Doctor Who’ POP! figures! Hot Topic has a few exclusives in store for us in the form of The Eleventh Doctor (with Fez), The Tenth Doctor (with 3D Glasses), and they will also have the ‘first to market exclusive’ Weeping Angel figure! These are set to hit Hot Topic stores later this summer! (via PopVinyls)

New Fabrikations Incoming

While we saw these guys at Toy Fair a few months back, we now have our first ‘official’ look at some of Funko’s new additions to their ‘Fabrikations’ line! This July fans of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Big Hero Six’ can snag the new Groot and Baymax Fabrikations from Funko!
