There have been many ups and downs when it comes to David Ayers’ ‘Suicide Squad.‘ Fans were understandably confused by the first look at Jared Leto’s version of The Joker, who was sporting a number of terrible tattoos, but then their hopes were slightly restored when the first look at the whole team in costume. Now, fans may experience both sets of feelings all over again when they see the latest pictures to leak from the set of the upcoming DC supervillain team up film.

According to ComicBook.com, Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime recently appeared in a scene with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Amateur footage was available, however, Warner Bros. acted quickly and had it taken down. Although, the site does provide a description of the scene that is presumably a flashback since Robbie appears to be out of costume as Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel rather than Mister J’s main squeeze:

The scene begins with Dr. Quinzel standing in front of a luxury sports car. She screams, “Get out of the car!” This is when the driver’s side door opens up and The Joker (Leto) emerges. He walks up to Quinzel and begins to talk to her in an animated fashion. She tries to embrace him but he appears to softly reject her. Their spate in the middle of the road is causing a logjam of vehicles. One person that is peeved by this nuisance is a trucker who walks over to them with a tire iron. Joker turns to acknowledge him, a few words are spoken, and then Quinzel reaches… for a gun and shoots the truck driver. Surprise!

The trucker’s death doesn’t faze the couple and they continue to argue. This is when The Joker slaps Quinzel to the ground and walks around his car. The couple have another brief exchange and then Joker slinks back into his vehicle. By the way, his license plate is “HAHAHA.”

That’s the good news. The bad news is that this scene confirms that the horrendous tattoos that the Joker sported in the first official image are definitely here to stay. As bad as the tattoos are, Leto’s wardrobe seems a bit reminiscent of Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the iconic comic book character. I’m fully confident that the acclaimed actor will give us a completely unique take on the Joker, but I’m still not sold on his look, even if it does take some cues from one of the best versions we’ve seen of the character on the big screen.

What do you think about this scene featuring Harley Quinn and The Joker from ‘Suicide Squad’? Are you disappointed that WB, DC, and director David Ayers are actually following through with the Clown Prince of Crime’s tattoos that look like they could be temporary and from the dollar store?
