A few weeks ago we covered the first 15 minutes of gameplay for CD Projekt RED’s upcoming game ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.’ Now, we have another video for you, this time showing off a side quest from the game’s prologue, highlighting gameplay mechanics such as dialogue choices and fighting abilities.

Called the “Precious Cargo” quest, the protagonist Geralt of Rivia is called down from a man on the road. He says he’s a merchant who was attacked by a swamp beast and had to abandon his horse and cart. Fearing the wrath of the beast, he would like you to retrieve a small box from among the cargo and return it to him, offering a reward.

You can check out where the story goes from there yourself in the video below, but without spoiling anything, the footage shows off a ton of gameplay aspects. Geralt can pick up on clues to help accomplish quests, either commenting upon them or highlighting the clues in red, making it easier to figure out where to go and what to do next. At night Geralt can pull out a torch to make it easier to see, and luckily can still fight with his sword in his other hand. Further, dialogue options are more than your standard ‘good versus bad’ responses, offering more grey areas or even answers with no straight forward, morally good choice.

‘The Witcher 3’ appears to be built upon the idea of giving players the freedom of exploration and choice – from their Facebook page:

Evolve unique witcher skills to tailor gameplay to your liking; hunt bloodthirsty monsters and develop your signature fighting strategies; use potent battle magic, and slay your way to victory in a truly limitless open world. Stroll, swim, ride and sail; embark on legendary quests and collect epic bounties. Take control: go anywhere, do anything!

Based off Andrzej Sapkowski critically-acclaimed novels, ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ will be out on May 19th, 2015 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Windows PC.
