For the past few weeks, True Believers have been enjoying ‘Agent Carter’ as their weekly look into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the first season wraps up this week and we return to the modern day MCU next Tuesday to catch up with Agent Coulson and his team in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’. After the events of the winter finale, we certainly have a ton of questions that need to be answers. Though we don’t have them right this second, we do have some special previews of what we can expect next week on ABC.

During last Sunday’s Academy Awards pre-show, a very special TV spot aired for Marvel Studios’ first television series set within their cinematic universe. It’s not special because we get to see some new footage from the upcoming mid-season premiere. Though that may be a great bonus, the promo for the episode titled ‘Aftershocks’ is the first time that the MCU acknowledges the term “Inhuman.” Even though ‘Inhumans’ isn’t scheduled to head theaters until July 12, 2019 (thanks to the addition of Spider-Man to Phase Three), ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is laying the groundwork for the children of the Terrigen Mist to appear on the big screen. Additionally, the title of the video hints at Skye/Daisy Johnson’s codename, Quake, which may or may not make the jump from the comics to the popular superhero show. Check out the commercial below courtesy of ABC’s YouTube channel, followed by the official synopsis of the episode:

Coulson’s team must deal with the consequences of their war with Hydra as shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart, and Hydra makes a dangerous move that may involve a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s midst.

Skye wasn’t the only one affected by the Obelisk. Raina is going through some changes as well and we’re sure to see how the mysterious mist changed the girl in the flower dress in the mid-season premiere. But before we get there, a new featurette from the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Facebook page recaps everything that Raina has been through on the show so far, plus a small look at what sort of powers she gained from the transformation:

Finally, as if all that wasn’t enough, a nice collection of pictures from next week’s episode have emerged to give us an even deeper look at what’s to come. In the gallery below, you can see Coulson, May, Skye, the rest of what remains of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more thanks to Spoiler TV:

Are you excited for the return of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? What do you think about the Inhuman transformations of Skye and Raina? Are you looking forward to seeing what other sorts of seeds are planted this season in preparation of the 2019 release that will presumably include Blackbolt, Madusa, and the rest of the Inhuman royal family? Let us know in the comment section.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ starring Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Chloe Bennet, and Clark Gregg returns to ABC on March 3, 2015.
