Warner Brother Animation’s ‘Batman: The Animated Series‘ is still considered one of the pinnacles of classic animation. Even today, almost twenty years after it’s ended, the series is critically lauded as one of the best animated shows of all time. Last year DC Collectibles gave us the first wave of their brand new toyline based on the iconic animated classic, which have been considered a huge success amongst collectors beyond a few quality control issues. While we’ve known for a few months now what figures we’ll be seeing in waves 2, 3, and 4 of the series, fans have been eagerly awaiting any news regarding a 5th wave of figures and beyond. Well DC Collectibles has heard the people, and this weekend at Toy Fair 2015, they’re giving them what they want- more ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ figures! And wow do they go above and beyond this time around!

First up is the all new lineup of figures for the fifth wave of figures! Set to hit shelves in October, this new wave will be comprised of Nightwing, Bane, Scarecrow, and The Mad Hatter! Nightwing rounds out the set of Batman’s sidekicks (as we’re getting Batgirl and both versions of Robin in earlier series), while the other flesh out even more of Batman’s iconic rogues gallery. The figures for Nightwing, Scarecrow, and Bane are based on their appearances in ‘The New batman Adventures’, while Mad Hatter is based on his earlier ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ design.

We’re also going to be seeing a brand new figure 2-pack based on what many consider to be the single greatest ‘Batman’ movie ever made, ‘Batman: Mask of The Phantasm’! This figure 2-pack is set to include both titular characters; Batman and The Phantasm. There is currently no release date set for this figure 2-pack.

And of course, to close out this series of ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ announcements, DC Collectibles has revealed a MASSIVE 24” long Batmobile vehicle! Based on the vehicle designf rom the original ‘Batman: The Animated Series’, this all new Batmobile will have seating inside for two 6” scale figures (not included), headlights that actually light up, and independently moving wheels!

Speaking with Mtv, Vice President Creative Services at DC Entertainment Kevin Kiniry said “Of the new figures from our ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ line, we really expect fans to go crazy over the one-of-a-kind Batmobile. There has never been a Batmobile based off the series in this scale before, and we are very excited to be the first,”

With the exception of the ’Mask of the Phantasm’ set, these hot new items from DC Collectibles ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ line are all expected to hit shelves this October!
