Though it managed to fall short of making my most anticipated films of 2015, I’m really looking forward to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’ After many years of stop and go, George Miller’s return to the post-apocalyptic world of the Road Warrior is finally hitting theaters this year and it looks insanely awesome. After getting the first official trailer for the film back at San Diego Comic Con, even people who aren’t familiar with the original Mel Gibson films are talking about the upcoming sequel/reboot starring Tom Hardy. Now, we get to see even more of the movie thanks to some new images and magazine covers.
Though we’re only getting a very small new look at ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ with these new shots from the film, any look is a good look because of the gorgeous and gritty cinematography that we’ve seen from the first two trailers. But with these images from The Playlist, you might catch a few things that you missed the first time around such as the marking on Nicholas Hoult’s chest or something entirely new like Charlize Theron without her mechanical arm. In addition to the pictures, we also have the covers from Empire Magazine’s latest issue featuring a rugged and weathered Hardy. While one looks like the actor is staring deep into our souls, the other looks like a Photoshop disaster. You can check out the covers and the pictures in the gallery below, followed by the official synopsis of the movie:
From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Hugh Keays-Byrne, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley rides into theaters on May 15, 2015.
