Great news for horror fans! It looks like Jamie Lee Curtis (‘Halloween’,’New Girl’) and Emma Roberts (‘American Horror Story‘,’Scream 4’) are going to be returning to horror in Fox’s upcoming series ‘Screen Queens’ by Ryan Murphy. While I should point out that Roberts hasn’t been away from horror as an active actress on ‘American Horror Story,’ we haven’t seen Curtis grace the genre since 2002 when she last played the role of Laurie Strode in ‘Halloween: Resurrection.’ She was previously rumored to star in ABC’s ‘The Final Girls‘ which we haven’t heard on since the initial news broke almost a year ago.

While we know who will be in the first season, at this time the characters’ roles are still being kept under wrap, but the FOX network did state:

“The first installment in the new anthology series revolves around a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders. Fifteen one-hour episodes have been ordered.”

Seems like it might be something set to put MTV’s upcoming ‘Scream‘ series to shame, and rightfully show if they don’t plan on using Ghostface.

Right off the bat you may have concern on Fox having a horror show that isn’t on their FX network, why would you go that route? Well, as the name implies ‘Scream Queens’ is going to be a horror comedy and also include some laughs and not just straight up scares. If you are a fan of Ryan Murphy though and what he’s done on ‘American Horror Story’ there clearly a want for horror anthology series and this one sounds like another stand alone season series.

What are your thoughts on ‘Screem Queens’? Are you happy with the casting or are you a little overloaded with horror on TV?

‘Scream Queens’ will premiere on Fox in the Fall of 2015
