After 14 years in the making, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s acclaimed comic series ‘Powers’ is finally heading to television thanks to the Playstation Network and their big coming out was during this year’s New York Comic Con. During their panel, cast members Susan Heyward, Logan Browning, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, and Eddie Izzard joined the two creators/executive producers before debuting the very first trailer for the highly anticipated show. But if you were wondering what else happened at that panel, then you’ve come to the right place.

Besides unveiling the trailer, the ‘Powers’ crew brought out a whole lot of details about the upcoming show to get the NYCC audience pumped up for the premiere this winter. For instance, in regards to Michelle Forbes’ Retro Girl, we’ll get to see how she’s integrated into the pop culture of the show’s universe through the various comic book depictions of her character done by some of today’s hottest artists. So far, the amazing artistic talent in the show consists of ‘Silver Surfer’ artist Mike Allred tackling the Golden Age of Retro Girl, David Marquez and Justin Ponsor of ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ taking on the modern age of the character, and Oeming depicting the Saturday morning cartoon version. However, for some even more awesome insights into the show so far, check out the highlights in the video below:

In addition to all of this, the panel showed off one more short clip to introduce us to the dynamic of the leads Sharlto Copley’s Christian Walker and Heyward’s Deena Pilgrim. The two are at a vending machine and Walker is telling his new partner a story from the time when he still had superpowers. Apparently he had spent the night with a groupie and after she engaged in fellatio with him, the girl temporarily received the ability to fly. Deena said that a lot of girls must have been looking to get superpowers that way and Walker responded by saying, “Not just girls.” Though the scene was very quick, it was super funny and definitely accomplished it’s goal of showing us what to expect from these two once the show hits the airwaves (so to speak).

Are you looking forward to the live action adaptation of ‘Powers’? Do you think that this show gives you a good reason to buy a Playstation if you don’t have one already? And what bits of news from the panel are you most excited for? Let us know in the comment section.
