In this latest behind-the-scenes featurette from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ we get to hear Chris Pratt (‘Jurassic World’,’The Lego Movie’) talk about why he was so happy to take on the role of Star-Lord.

When he previously spoke about the role he said that “Once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he’s very much a kid at heart. He’s like a man-child, and I like the idea that he’s got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he’s lonely and desperate, but on the outside he walks around like he’s big and tough, and I don’t think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he’s not just a scared little child.”

That view has only expanded as time went on. Take a look at what he has to say below!

“What attracted me to this role is really the arc for this character,” Pratt said. “Peter Quill, he’s the only human in this crazy world, traveling through space, getting to do whatever he wants.” While it almost sounds like his life has become all fun and games, “there’s something missing in his life. Through the course of the movie, he has to learn that there’s more to life than just taking exactly what you want.”

My favorite quote, and the one I think really fits the feel of the movie, is when Pratt states, “I’ve been in awe this whole time. I have a hunch that we’re doing something special, something that’s never been done before.”

I think so too!  How will it actually play out on the big screen? We’ll find out this August but I have a feeling we’re in for something amazing here.
