Way back when it was first announced, fans knew that ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ was going to be massive. After all, it is based on one of the most epic comic book storylines ever written. Then, director Bryan Singer began sharing the various characters that would be appearing in the film and we got to see just how big this blockbuster was going to be. However, something had to give eventually and it ended up being scenes featuring Anna Paquin’s Rogue ending up on the cutting room floor. Last month, writer Simon Kinberg revealed what these deleted sequences entailed, but now it seems like we’ll be able to see them for ourselves later this year.

When movies make their way to Blu-Ray and DVD, it’s not uncommon for the special features to include deleted scenes. However, when the latest installment in Fox’s Marvel mutant franchise hits stores, it appears that rather than just including the pieces that ended up on the cutting room floor, they’ll be put back into the movie for an all-new cut. According to a Twitter post from producer Lauren Shuler Donner, a Director’s Cut of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is on it’s way:

While there’s no details about what other scenes will be reinserted into the movie besides Rogue’s rescue from the Sentiels by Iceman, Magneto, and Professor X or when the home release will officially be available, it will be interesting to see what else ends up making it into this new cut. Also, we’ll get to see what the run time would have been if Singer had left things as they were.
