Since the last casting of Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook in Pan, we haven’t heard too much about the film. Today we can share that not only has Amanda Seyfried joined the cast, but that the cast been fully rounded up at this point!

The cast is a mixture of well known talent as well as newer faces and includes several known names previously seen in genre films so it should be fun to see them all on the big screen together.

So who all has been cast so far? Well, the movie will be starring Hugh Jackman (‘The Wolverine‘, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘) as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund (‘TRON: Legacy‘,’Troy’) as Hook, Rooney Mara (‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘Her‘) as Tiger Lily, Adeel Akhtar as Smee, and finally newcomer Levi Miller as Peter. To round out the cast we also have Jack Charles as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father, Taejoo Na as Kwahu, Nonso Anozie (‘Ender’s Game‘, ‘Dracula’) as Bishop, Kathy Burke as Mother Barnabas, Kurt Egyiawan as Murray, Lewis MacDougall as Nibs, and another newcomer Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling. Finally, Amanda Seyfried (‘Red Riding Hood’, ‘Ted 2’) has just joined the cast as Mary,  Wendy’s mother for those who need a refresher. If you ask me she seems a bit too young for that role.

Production has already started this week on the latest re-telling of J.M. Barrie’s classic fairy tale that everyone has experienced at some point growing up. This live action film, however, is not your Disney-fied version of the famed story. Here’s a short synopsis of the film:

The film will be a new take on the classic story. It is set in World War II and follows an orphan named Peter (Miller) who is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland, where he discovers his destiny to become a hero and save the land from the pirate Blackbeard (Jackman). This version will also see Hook (Hedlund) as Pan’s friend.

‘Pan’ is slated to be released on July 17, 2015.
