Life after the TARDIS isn’t looking too shabby for former ‘Doctor Who’ companion Karen Gillan. Not only has she landed the lead role in ABC’s modern take on ‘My Fair Lady’ called ‘Selfie’, but her new horror film ‘Occulus’ from ‘Paranormal Activity’ and ‘Insidious’ producers Blumhouse Productions and WWE Studios made its United States debut at this year’s South By Southwest. However, her most anticipated role at the moment is in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as the villainous space pirate Nebula. And now, the director offers a brand new look at the character.

Over the weekend, James Gunn shared a new shot from his upcoming Phase Two film of Gillan’s Nebula through his personal Instagram account. In his post, he calls the mysterious badass the “interplanetary Clint Eastwood”. Although, with Zoe Saldana’s Gamora being billed as the deadliest woman in the universe, one might think that the green gladiator would take offense to that caption. And just because we here at ScienceFiction.com can’t get enough of the former Amy Pond, here are a few behind the scenes GIFs of the actress in action from the All Things Marvel Tumblr:
