The film is 3 months away yet it seems that Sony can’t get enough trailers out for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. The first trailer was released in December, followed by an international trailer, with another released on New Year’s Eve and the last trailer (which clocked in to close to 4 minute) aired during the Super Bowl. So it should be no surprise that this latest trailer really doesn’t reveal much more than what we have already seen.

What does make this version worth watching is that the studio has put in new footage of scenes we’ve already watched.  (Don’t know about you, but I can’t get enough of the Spidey action in the fight scenes with Electro!)

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ is an ambitious film as it seems to be the stepping stone for the expansion of the Sony’s Spider-Man universe with sequels already announced, spinoffs and the rumor of the Sinister Six to have a large influence. There is a lot of story to cover here including the introduction of villains (we have Electo, Rhino, the Ultimate Spider Slayer and Green Goblin to name a few), the relationship between Gwen and Peter and the mystery of Peter’s parent’s disappearance and how Oscorp is connected.

Is this all too much for one movie to cover? We’ll have to wait until May when the film is in theaters, but until then, check out the latest trailer below!

Synopsis:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Directed by Marc Webb, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and B.J. Novak and will swing into theaters on May 2.
