Last month, Latino Review got the scoop that former Nazi and prominent HYDRA member Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker would be terrorizing the Avengers in ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ in addition to the titular villain played by James Spader. We also learned that Von Strucker would be a minor threat to the team and the reason that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come in contact with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. But now after finding out all of that, we finally know who will be stepping into the Satan Claw and monocle of the bad baron.

Thomas Kretschmann of NBC’s ‘Dracula’, ‘King Kong’, and ‘Wanted’ will play Baron Von Strucker in the follow up to ‘The Avengers’. The villain has also gone up against “both Captain America (Chris Evans) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)”, so does that mean that we’ll see him prior to the sequel to Joss Whedon’s 2012 record breaking blockbuster? Well, if The Hollywood Reporter is to be believed, then that appears to be the case as Borys Kit posted this on his Twitter feed shortly after the news broke:

If Kretschmann’s deal is for multiple films and he has faced Fury and Cap, then logically one could assume that he’d pop up in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ in some way. My guess is that since the film is in the post-production phase already, Baron Von Strucker might be featured in a post-credits scene in Steve Rogers’ next adventure.

What do you think about Thomas Kretschmann landing the role of Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker? Do you think that we’ll definitely be seeing him in some way before ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’? Let’s hear your thoughts and theories in the comments below.

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ assembles in theaters on May 1, 2015.
