To celebrate the upcoming release of Gareth Edwards’ upcoming film ‘Godzilla‘ as well as the 60th anniversary of everyone’s favorite giant monster, the Japanese site for the film’s release has released this quick and easy to play interactive arcade game!

You can check out a screenshot of the opening screen here:

You can play the game by clicking the image above or clicking right here. In the game you have the option to play as the most iconic gigantic creature to ever grace the big screen and destroy not only the city but take out other creatures as well! OK, this is a browser game where you see everything in silhouette form. It’s not too powerful on the graphics or the game play as your main key is to move forward and play with your keyboard until you can find the right combination to unleash devastating attacks that will destroy the city before you.

Honestly, I don’t mind the graphic style. I think this type of a teaser game really benefits from the silhouette idea as a tease on what do expect. My problem? With how much I want this film to be amazing and for how big of a budget the film is you’d think they could do slightly better with the gaming controls and I suspect I’m not the only one that’s going to have that opinion.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming ‘Gozdilla’ remake? Did you enjoy their teaser game or think they should have cleaned it up just a little more? Share your thoughts below!

‘Godzilla’ lands in theaters on May 16, 2014 and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn  and Bryan Cranston.
