The Scarlet Witch‘s look is pretty classically represented by reds and a certain head piece she’s always had on. In the upcoming ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron‘, it looks as if Marvel will once more be following the looks laid out in the Marvel Ultimate line. This is going to mean that a certain head piece she’s known for is going to be gone. Director Joss Whedon (The Avengers) was recently asked about her look in the upcoming film and had this to say on the matter:

No. She might wear a headband or something that might echo it. The guys at Marvel, the conceptual artists, are phenomenal, and they are so good at taking the essence of what works and interpreting it for the actual human body, and when they paint something you can not only tell how it’s gonna work on a person, you can even tell what fabric it’ll be. They are very specific, very talented. So I’m excited to see the designs. Obviously we want to echo the look that people know, but there’s the classic look and the Ultimates look, but you have to do it in a way that will work. But it can’t be too old school… she can’t wear a leotard.

So the leotard is clearly pointing to the classic look of the Scarlet Witch while the Ultimate look is slightly different. Let’s take a comparison of the two, shall we? Here we have the original classic look on the left and the look from the Ultimate on the right.

So there are some big changes between the two. ‘The Ultimates’ version of the Scarlet Witch is clearly showing more actual skin while the original version has a bit more of a skimpy look even while more covered up. If we go with ‘The Ultimates’ look, we’ll be sans head piece as mentioned above and have a built in look that is already more inline with what the current cinematic looks have been going with. Let’s be honest here, the characters have really been taking all of the styling from the Ultimate Universe and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. So, no head piece or leotard, although we might see a cape mixed with the leather look she sported in ‘The Ultimates’ before her untimely demise.

Which look do you prefer? The Ultimate or Classic?
